Concerning the current outcry from ACRE members about receiving mail from the UTU and BLE&T:

In ACRE's very first newsletter dated December 15, 1998 from Jack Gaines, Negotiating Committee Division 127, and Denis Pope, Alternate Legislative Delegate Local 77, where did they obtain the names and addresses of the membership for ACRE's mailings? Was it obtained from the Local Division records of BLE 127 and UTU 77 or from Metro-North Railroad? Where was the outcry from the membership about receiving mail from ACRE at this time?

Also Gaines and Perry state, “Because of their union positions, the General and Local Committee leadership we currently enjoy cannot publicly express their support for this step”. Why was that Jack and Denis? Why couldn't our officers step into the light and show their support for ACRE at this time? Could it be that they would be in violation of their oath of office to the BLE and UTU? Then the Internationals would have immediately removed these officers from office and put the Locals into receivership? Instead our officers hide in the shadows and bled the Locals dry for a year, pretending to serve the UTU and BLE memberships interests. Where was the outcry from the membership then?

This pattern continues today with ACRE officers negotiating themselves full-time union release salaries from MTA Metro-North. ACRE officers continue their pattern and are again playing both sides of the fence for their own personal gains.
