Why Will ACRE Division 1 Not Debate The UTU?

This past August UTU Local 77 challenged ACRE Division 1 to a debate of issues. A response was requested within 30 days. No response was the answer received by Local 77.

Why will Division 1 not accept this challenge? A debate would be welcomed by the majority of ACRE members. A debate provides Division 1 an opportunity to justify their position regarding many issues and to confront the union these officers have maligned for years. Numerous ACRE members have stated that the response they received from ACRE officers when they inquired if Division 1 would accept the debate challenge was that ACRE did not wish to grant a forum to the opposition. Does anyone really believe this to be true?

In reality ACRE cannot defend their position or the misinformation they have circulated for years. ACRE cannot confront the UTU or any other union they have disparaged. ACRE misinformation cannot escape scrutiny in the forum of a debate because documentation and corroboration of issues by various union officers will be presented. ACRE cannot win a debate, and ACRE is fully aware that if they accepted the challenge, the truth of issues that has eluded ACRE members for years, would be revealed.
