To: All Members, ACRE Local 1
From: Paul Holland, Sec. Loc.1

The following is an overview of the subjects discussed at our August union meeting.

1.   General Chairman Anthony Bottalico stated that we will be arbitrating our extra list calling order dispute on November 11th and our sicktime dispute January 7th.
Our negotiating committee will be serving the carrier with our Section 6 notices outlining our demands in the next round of negotiations. The notices will be served by Labor Day and published in a newsletter after the holiday.
Contrary to what the coalition of unions have told their members, they have in fact initialed terms of a contract that covers 6 years and 2 months and incorporates the LIRR and ACRE pattern beginning in 2003, with the rejected deal of TWU Local 100 for the following 2 years and 2 months. The deal requires all their members to contribute to medical like the Transit Authority at 1.5% of an employees gross. The terms were initialed on June 27th however they are still working on their Memorandum of Understandings.
