ACRE is crowing about a recent Newsday article concerning new LIRR President Helema Williams comments on the merger of LIRR and Metro-North.  If Bottalico and Doyle both had the vision of the future, why did they sign a sidebar agreement on January 15, 2004 with the MTA concerning the MTA's Corporate Restructuring?  This is where ACRE and the MTA would work in a harmonious atmosphere and reach a timely and mutually acceptable conclusion.  Also, why did Gary "D" recently require the entire M-N Coalition of unions to sign the same exact sidebar agreement?   The merger and corporate restructuring was a left over idea from then MTA Chairman Peter Kalikow and former Executive Director Katie Lapp which is a policy that several Long Island leaders questioned and had scrapped.  Maybe these leaders should turn their focus on ACRE, another policy left over from the Kalikow and Lapp era !!!
