In
2007 the total amount of Executive Board Salaries paid out
was $133,940.00. If you divide this by $240.00 (the amount
of dues an ACRE member pays to the Executive Board in a
year, $20. per month x 12 months) you see that it takes
558 ACRE members just to pay Executive
Board Salaries. ACRE claims to have 1,543 dues paying members.
That means that it takes 36% of the ACRE membership dues
just to support ACRE Executive Board Salaries. Most of the
salary expenses are split just between two-ACRE members,
Jack Gaines and Mark Amorello.
As
of December 2007 ACRE has spent a grand total of $689,336.00
in Executive Board Salaries. This is your dues money.
Exactly what does ACRE members have to show for
this exorbitant outlay of dues expenditures? Absolutely
nothing. ACRE contracts have been far inferior to other
contracts within the MTA and Commuter Railroad Industry
within the same time frame. The only ones who have something
to show for these salaries are Gaines and Amorello, and
that would be their personal bank accounts. As far as ACRE
members are concerned they have been cannibalized for any
ill received gains.
John
Gaines is the Executive Board Legislative Director – Gaines
also is the Legislative Representative for ACRE Local Division
9, which he also receives a salary ($6,705 in 2006). Local
9 has not filed their 2007 LM2 Report with the Department
of Labor.
Mark
Amorello is the Executive Board Secretary Treasurer – Amorello
is also the Treasurer for ACRE Local Division 1, which he
also receives a salary ($14,698 in 2007).
Mike
Shaw and Paul Holland are listed as “other” for their ACRE
Executive Board responsibilities. * Note: ACRE officers
also receive the earnings of their job on top of these salaries.
