Today the UTU/SIR members ratified the new contract as follows:

97% SEEMS LIKE A MANDATE!

The wage and pension agreement was exactly the same as the LIRR/UTU deal. In addition a domestic partner benefit was added to the medical.

This agreement changed the SIR pension from a 30/60 to a 30/55 with paid medical. There were no give backs! The SIR/UTU members will pay the 3% just like LIRR/UTU members for only 10 years and there are no medical plan contributions from anyone. Mike Canino did another outstanding job and the ratification says it all!
