Tell
the Senate to Support Workers
America 's
workers need your help, and the Senators who represent
us must hear your voice. Please consider sending
a letter to your Senator to urge support
for the Employee Free Choice Act.
It was great
news when the Employee Free Choice Act passed the
U.S. House of Representatives this spring, thanks
in no small part to the thousands who lobbied their
Representatives for support. Soon, the Senate will
consider and vote on this important legislation. The
proposed law would address years of corporate management's
abuse of our labor laws by protecting the rights of
workers to form unions and enacting stronger penalties
for company management when they try to interfere.
TTD President
Edward Wytkind said in a letter to Congress "when
workers are able to form unions and engage in collective
bargaining, they enjoy higher wages, greater access
to health care, greater retirement security, more
time with their families, as well as greater dignity
and respect on the job."
Union membership
is one of the best ways to reach a higher standard
of living. If passed, the Employee Free Choice Act
will make unions an option for millions more.
Make
your voice heard for today's workers and tomorrow's
union members .
